Freaky Shee-at

So the morning began early. A little too early for my liking, but "that's life". I was having coffee with the Clinical Nurse Manager in the kitchen when one of the young admin girls came in; a truly delightful young Polish girl whose name sounds vaguely like "Lasagna" which, incidentally, seems to be her favourite microwaved lunch option.

She decided to pick up one of the newspapers and read out her horoscope for the day. To be honest, she does this whenever opportunity presents itself. It was - as is to be expected - vague, predictable, and of no specific relevance whatsoever. Then she decided to read out every one's horoscopes, including the aforementioned Clinical Nurse Manager's (who is adorable, and "on my side", which is ALWAYS a good thing). In it, it was revealed that she would "apply all her skill and knowledge in an unexpected manner today" and "would receive a call from home about a loved one who is suffering from a past event". Not much in that you say?

Well, would you believe that moments after that happened, she was called to one of those "incredibly important meetings" people talk about; a meeting to which her attendance was unheard of, but essential given the absence of anyone else. Freaky? It gets better: at about 11 am, she took a call from....her mother. Her mother had called to say her brother had been taken to hospital with an [I deduced some form of traumatic arthritis of the knee]. Seemingly his knee has swollen to ugly proportions and needed to be aspirated. Hold on...it gets better...he had sustained a knee injury 12 months previously while quad biking.

So:

(i) she applied all her skill and knowledge in an unexpected manner. (ii) received a call from home about a loved one who is suffering, and this was... (iii) related to a past event.

Yeah yeah, I know, it's all coincidence and shite. But still, rather dashing when things conspire to agree in such a manner.

Nonetheless, she ended up being told she had to work overtime this evening, so there's a far worse daily incident that went unforeseen. StumbleUpon
